Privacy Notice
Last updated 29 October 2026
This notice explains what we collect when you visit www.scalemanchester.co.uk or contact us, what we do with it, and the choices you have.
Who We Are
Scale Manchester is the controller of the personal information described here. You can reach us about anything in this notice at hello@scalemanchester.co.uk.
When You Contact Us
If you use the form on our contact page, we collect your name, your email address, your company or website if you give them, the service you are interested in and your message.
With your message we keep a short record of how you reached the site during that visit: the website or search engine that sent you, any campaign tags in the link you followed, and the pages you looked at before writing. It tells us which of our pages are useful.
We use all of this to reply to you and, if you become a client, to run your account. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering enquiries, and taking steps at your request before entering into a contract.
An AI service reads new messages sent through the form to help us separate real enquiries from spam. It works on the message only to sort it and does not use it for anything else.
If you email us directly, we keep your email and our replies in our mailbox for the same purposes.
When You Visit the Site
This site sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser.
We count visits without identifying you. For each page view we record the page, the website that linked to it, any campaign tags, the type of device and browser, the country, how long the page was open and how far down it was read. We do not store your IP address or your full browser details.
Our hosting provider keeps short-lived technical logs of requests, which include IP addresses, to run and protect the site.
Some typefaces on this site are loaded from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address as part of delivering them, as any web server does.
Who Else Handles It
We use a small number of service providers to run the site and our email: website hosting, a database, email delivery and the AI service mentioned above. They handle your information only on our instructions.
Some of them store information outside the UK. Where they do, the transfer is covered by the UK’s data protection safeguards, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or an adequacy decision.
We never sell your information, and we do not add you to a mailing list.
How Long We Keep It
Visit records are deleted after 400 days.
An enquiry is kept while we are discussing your project. If we work together, we keep what we need for the length of the work and for as long as tax and accounting rules require afterwards. If we do not, you can ask us to delete your enquiry at any time.
Your Rights
You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it, delete it, limit how we use it or stop using it. Write to hello@scalemanchester.co.uk and we will reply within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk. We would be grateful for the chance to put things right first.
Changes to This Notice
If what we collect or how we use it changes, we update this page and the date at the top of it.
